The Pacific Research Colloquium (PRC) is a two-week intensive research training program managed by the Australian National University’s Department of Pacific Affairs.

This year, the PRC took place between 25th November to 6th December 2019 and was the most diverse one in its history as researchers came from all over the Pacific including Cook Islands, Fiji, Micronesia, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Samoa, Tonga, and Vanuatu. In addition to research skills development, participants were tasked with developing a 6000-word paper on their research. DPA academics and researchers provided detailed advice and extensive mentorship. “One of the most valuable things that I’ve learnt at PRC is about having confidence in my own research.” said William Waqavakatoga, a PRC participant from Fiji while summarising his experience at the PRC 2019. Olioliilealiieleaunoa Faletoese from Samoa called PRC 2019, ‘one of the most rewarding experiences’ of her life.
